Is Kotlin killing Java?

Is Kotlin Replacing Java?

Java has been one of the most popular programming languages for decades. Recently, a new language, Kotlin, has been gaining traction among developers due to its intuitive syntax and support for type inference. Kotlin has several advantages over Java, including its ability to reduce code and its built-in null safety feature. Google has even declared Kotlin as its preferred language for Android development.

However, this doesn’t mean that Java is disappearing. Java is still widely used for developing enterprise applications and has a larger user base and more comprehensive libraries. The cost of switching from Java to Kotlin can also be prohibitive for some developers, as it requires more resources to learn and use and may require existing code to be rewritten.

In the end, the decision of which language to use is up to each individual developer. Kotlin has its advantages, but it may not be the best choice for every situation. It is important to consider the cost of switching from Java to Kotlin, as well as the needs of the project, before making a decision.
